A psychosocial support session for Eritrean women titled “A Syrian Cup of Coffee with an Eritrean Flavor.”
“Every cup of coffee has a story” it is not merely a drink we sip, but a ritual that carries in its aroma the stories of nations, the warmth of memories, and a longing for days that were simpler and more peaceful. Around coffee, stories begin, threads of understanding are woven, and safe spaces for dialogue and connection are created.
Within this context, Al-Ghad Foundation organized a psychosocial support session for Eritrean women titled “A Syrian Cup of Coffee with an Eritrean Flavor” on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in collaboration with psychologist Ms. Dania Al-Halabi as part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to empower women and strengthen their psychosocial well-being.
The session brought together 15 participants and included open dialogue discussions addressing the challenges of integration and coping mechanisms in a new environment, alongside an exchange of cultures and traditions between the Syrian and Eritrean communities. The meeting was given a warm humanitarian touch through a video presentation showcasing key landmarks from both countries, which helped foster mutual understanding and cultural respect.
Special thanks and appreciation to Ms. Amna Idris for her valuable support and efforts in assisting the Sudanese and Eritrean communities and in strengthening bridges of communication with the Syrian community.
