A psychosocial support session for Sudanese women titled “A Syrian Cup of Coffee with a Sudanese Flavor.”
“Every Cup of Coffee Tells a Story”… a title steeped in warmth and nostalgia, echoing the beauty of days gone by days when life flowed peacefully, untouched by the shadows of war and conflict. Today, as we gather around our coffee, we rekindle the threads of love and connection, for within every cup lies a story waiting to be told.
As part of this ongoing series of support, Al-Gad Foundation organized a mental and social support gathering for Sudanese women under the theme “A Syrian Coffee with a Sudanese Flavor,” in collaboration with psychologist Dania Al Halabi, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. This initiative falls within the foundation’s broader efforts to empower women and strengthen their social and psychological well-being.
The session brought together 12 participants, offering practical psychological guidance on navigating challenges and fostering integration within the community. It also created a safe space for open dialogue, where participants exchanged stories, cultural traditions, and reflections on the similarities and differences between Syrian and Sudanese cultures. The gathering was further enriched by a short film showcasing iconic landmarks from both countries a heartfelt gesture that deepened the spirit of understanding, closeness, and shared humanity
