Medical sessions and trainings.

Funded by the European Union and implemented under the project “Enhancing Access to Primary Healthcare Services for the Most Vulnerable in Egypt,” Al-Ghad Foundation conducted awareness campaigns and medical trainings during the months of November and December.

The awareness sessions aimed to highlight the most common health issues affecting public health, particularly in light of the negative impacts and health consequences left by COVID-19 on communities. These sessions also introduced participants to healthcare service providers in Egypt and offered practical medical guidance to help families maintain better health and well-being.

As for the trainings, they covered fundamental nursing principles, elderly care, and emergency first aid, with the objective of building participants’ capacities to provide basic medical care within their families. The trainings also equipped participants with essential skills for rapid response in emergency situations to help save lives and reduce complications from incidents such as burns, choking, and fractures. Additional skills included administering injections, measuring blood pressure, wound dressing and suturing, along with other topics incorporated based on participants’ suggestions.

The sessions were attended by migrants and refugees of various nationalities, including Syrians, Sudanese, Somalis, and Yemenis, in addition to Egyptians from different age groups, across the areas of 6th of October, Giza, and Obour.
